Dreams of The Foundation
Over the years, I’ve continuously dreamt of childhood homes. In the dreams, I was trying to run away but couldn’t. My attempts to escape moved in slow motion. As a child these homes were full of strife. Lots of fighting, yelling and abuse. At times I sensed an evil presence observing me. There was something about my grandmother’s bedroom that scared me. I don’t know what happened in that room, but I’m still asking God to this day. Why was I having these dreams? For the longest, I didn’t know the message behind them. Now, I have the answer. These dreams were warnings. God wanted me to pray against spirits attacking my progress. Do you have these dreams?
Dreams of visiting old homes are warnings of stagnation, limitation and delay. My foundation (upbringing) is unhealthy and unable to bear good fruit. On the outside the ground seems dry and barren. But underneath there is life ready to bloom. This past year, I’ve focused a lot on uprooting the evil roots.
What are evil roots? Evil roots are repetitive family patterns. These patterns can show up as diseases, teen parenthood, incest, adultery, anti-marriage, fatherless homes, infidelity, secrets and many other things. It’s a generational bloodline infection. Families notice these strange occurrences, but ignorance keeps us bound. Demons become familiar with generations over the centuries as they work behind the scenes. Issues get dismissed as “just the way things are” but it’s deeper than that. These are curses and demons rely on our ignorance to continue their evil deeds.
Our dreams give us advance notice into the plans of our invisible enemy. It gets exhausting, but we have to be on guard. Matthew 13:25 reads, “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way”. If we’re not paying attention, the enemy can slip in, raise hell and disappear like nothing happen. But wait a minute, demons don’t abandon their homes. They invested and patient.
My foundation was rocky before I was conceived. So, by default I was born at a disadvantage. However, I’m striving to change this. Psalm 11:3 says, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Beautiful homes are destroyed by sinkholes because the earth beneath them gave in. What’s the point in looking well put together on the outside with questionable character? Matthew 7:24-27 says “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
How do we fix the foundation? First be honest with yourself? You need healing (so do I). You can only fix yourself with God’s help. The old foundation must be broken, uprooted and thrown out. This looks like renewing your mind, facing the old baggage and casting away the old you. Old and new wineskins can’t be mixed. You’re either on the left or the right. If you’re standing in the middle, there is compromise and confusion. Don’t be disheartened. Renewing your mind takes time, especially for those who were abused. Also, the devil is always going to try and re-enforce your old ways. The enemy wants you stuck in bondage. This looks like falling behind in life – no progress.
Are you ready to heal? Are you willing to do the work for yourself, your children and your family? You can do this. You will improve. You will see change. Curses will be broken.
